1992: Madonna Gone Wild

Here's one of the first TV reports about Madonna's 1992 "Sex" book! The controversial publication went on sale in October of that year but months earlier in the Spring, Madonna was out and about in Miami with photographer Steven Meisel shooting for the book.

At that point the only details known were that Madonna "was working on a coffee table book of her sexual fantasies" - and soon paparazzi photographs of a naked Madonna on the beach posing for her book made it into newspapers and magazines all over the world.

In America the photos featured in an issue of Playboy magazine and here, Entertainment Tonight talks to the Playboy photo editor about the spread.

1992: Oscars Party News Footage

She stole the show at the 1991 Oscars performing that year's winning song from the movie "Dick Tracy" and partying afterwards on the arm of Michael Jackson. A year later Madonna was back, this time not at the Oscars show itself, but attending the main Oscars post-show party.

20 years ago on Monday March 30th 1992, the 64th Annual Academy Awards took place in Hollywood. Whilst 1992 ended up being a very big year for Madonna, back in March it was a case of the calm before the storm.

Work on her forthcoming "Sex" book had unofficially started and filming of "Body Of Evidence" in Portland was imminent and it was looking a bit like her character in that movie (Rebecca Carlson) that Madonna joined Rosie O'Donnell & Alek Keshishian to go to the biggest Oscars party of the night.

In the days before the "Vanity Fair" Oscars party, the hottest invite in town was to one hosted every year by Irving "Swifty" Lazar at Spago in Hollywood.

Here's some rarely seen reports on that party in 1992 from the Madonna-TV archives, taken from Entertainment Tonight, CNN Showbiz Today & MTV's The Big Picture. ET's Pat O'Brien even caught a quick word with Madonna as she left the bash!
