2000: Madonna's Greatest TV Moments!

Back in late 2000, VH-1 in the US featured Madonna in their"Greatest TV Moments" series.

This superb TV special used pristine archive footage to tell the story of Madonna's most memorable USA TV appearances up to the start of the new millennium.

The show covered such events as her legendary VMA appearances, her surprise interview on Letterman in 1988 with Sandra Bernhard, being on Arsenio Hall in 1992 with her father and the HBO broadcast of her Blond Ambition tour in 1990. Many interviews with those involved at the time are used to illustrate the archive TV footage

2000: "Naked Ambition" UK TV Documentary

It's been a long time since an original high quality Madonna documentary was made for TV. One of the very last to have been produced by a UK channel was this one back in the year 2000.

Network TV's Channel Four devoted an entire Saturday night's programming to Madonna back then and "Naked Ambition" was part of the evening's schedules. Narrated by Kathy Burke, it took an in-depth look at Madonna's rise to fame in the late 70s and early 80s.

First broadcast on Saturday December 9th 2000, there were no former Big Brother housemates or out-of-work comedians popping up to give their two cents on Madonna. Instead this insightful documentary included all-new interviews with people who actually had something useful to say.

Stephen Bray, Mark Kamins, Maripol, Camille Barbone, and Freddy DeMann were among those who featured.

2003: Madonna gig at HMV London Store

Sad news this week as iconic music store HMV goes into administration in the UK, putting over 4,000 jobs at risk.

Ten years ago Madonna fans were descending on London for one of the most intimate concerts she's ever done. At London's Oxford Circus, the flagship HMV store played host to a very special Madonna live gig in front of just 500 people.

Here's a bunch of news reports from Madonna-TV's very own video archives recorded in May 2003!
